Fuling Orphanage's Lily Orphan Care Center is a large improvement over the
older facilities, but like most buildings in China, it is minimally heated
in the winter. Children and babies are kept warm primarily by their clothing and by layers of padded cotton and wool bedding. (Nights in regions along the Yangtze River are cold and damp in winter.) |
| International Adoptive Families, a U.S. based* officially registered non-profit. This agency generously helped Fuling Families & Friends collect funds for the Make Bed for a Baby project AND the Incubators for the Babies project. |

| A $25 donation purchased ONE complete crib setting: a heavy, padded cotton under-quilt with sheet, a heavy padded cotton over-quilt with a colorful duvet, a wool-blend blanket, a cotton blanket, a pillow AND a pillow case! These bedsets are made at a local Fuling Company as well! |

| Cao Zhusheng (our friend Huang Ying's mom) went
with Assistant Director Pan and other employees of the Fuling SWI to
purchase and deliver the bedding. They were able to stretch the
funds to purchase: 250 sets of blankets (1 wool / 1 cotton) 257 sets of sheets, pillow cases, and pillows 220 sets of heavy top & bottom quilts with less than 1$ left! |
